Casey & Grant (who will now talk in 3rd person) fortuitously met via the wonders of the internet (aka Bumble). Casey had just finished a year of backpacking and working on farms around the world (as you do), generally experiencing her quarter-life crisis and beginning a new chapter in Boston (having bid adieu to her California roots). Grant had a similarly wanderlust trajectory (born in CT, college in MA, a few years in New Zealand, then settling in Boston), and thankfully, their paths crossed this May. Fun fact: the day before they matched, Grant had re-downloaded the dating app and paid $5 for an upgrade, which landed him Casey. She will now perpetually owe him $5. After a many, many hours-long first date picnic on the Charles River path (complete with white wine, chips, and more white wine), they fell for each other instantly. In a slightly delirious but completely wise whirlwind, they then spent the summer traveling to Italy, hiking through Acadia, trekking to the Smokies for the solar eclipse, spent Casey's 30th birthday with her mom and Grant's parents, and moved in together in the woods outside of Boston. Most of all, they love their everyday picnics in their cozy home, and starting to build a simple, meaningful life together. It's just been the best, in their humble opinion. Since they decided 2018 needed to keep up the pace (well, and also couldn't imagine life without the other), they proposed to each other in December 2017. And, well, here we are: on the internet, reading this.
