Johnny Mac's in Asbury Park has long been the favorite bar of Casey and Conall, both regularly frequenting the bar before they ever met. Then on Halloween night 2016, Casey spotted Conall dressed as one of her favorite characters - Burt Macklin, FBI. With the encouragement of some friends, and some cheap beer, she struck up a conversation with Conall. She told him it was her birthday at midnight, so they did shots together, exchanged numbers, and then went on several dates over the next few weeks. But some love stories take time... and they went their separate ways, with Conall even moving to Michigan... until Spring of 2019. With a reconnection on social media, some very good timing, and Conall about to move home for a job outside of Philly - they soon found themselves back in their favorite bar once again, to catch up. Their connection was as strong as ever. Casey asked Conall to be her date to her brother's wedding that summer, and that ended up being the night he asked her to be his girlfriend (despite her being a Flyers fan). The 2020 lockdown saw them move in together much faster than anticipated, but it only made their bond stronger. Their shared passion for travel, different cultures, and breweries (of course) became more and more apparent, and as soon as restrictions were lifted they decided they wanted to start seeing the world together. Several states, countries, and Disney parks later, their travels took them to London - where in August of 2023, Conall proposed in Casey's favorite place on earth. Back home, they celebrated their engagement at, you guessed it, Johnny Mac's. And after almost 2 years of planning and anticipation, they day is almost here! With their next big trip planned to Asia for their honeymoon, they couldn't be more excited. But more than anything, they are so fortunate to have not only found each other, but to both have wonderful relationships with each others' families and friends! And of course, they are forever grateful to that little dive bar in Asbury Park, that brought them together nearly a decade ago.
