Casey and Collin both attended Tarleton State University in the fall of 2011. Before falling in love, they were best friends! After moving for the third time in a month during the fall of 2011, Casey moved into Centennial Hall where Collin was living. A few days later Casey and her best friend Aubrey Brieger were walking in the hall when Chance Cerda stopped and invited them to hang out with the group on the second floor. It was there that Casey and Collin met. From then on, they spent a lot of time together. They worked out together, ate at the dining hall, went dancing with friends and played games together. Collin even drove 20 minutes out of town to drive Casey and Aubrey back one rainy morning when they were in a car accident. After months of Collin asking, Casey finally agreed to a date on Valentine’s Day of 2012. Collin took Casey to Grumps for cheeseburgers and Walmart to buy ice cream and a board game. He knew how much she missed family game nights at home. While all their friends were at the dancehall, they spent the night on Collin's dorm room floor playing Life and eating ice cream out of the tubs. They began dating May 1st and have been enjoying life ever since! Casey and Collin dated through the last 3 1/2 years of college. They welcomed Stubbs into their family in 2012 and Abigail in 2014. They spent the summer of 2015 with 7 little corgis and loved each other through the deaths of both their Mimis that same year. On August 8, 2015, Casey and Collin graduated together from the best kept secret in Texas. The next day, Casey moved home to San Antonio for her master's program. Collin worked in Stephenville and in February of 2017 bought their first home (and shop, of course!). For almost three years, Casey and Collin managed a long-distance relationship, sometimes seeing each other only once a month. Despite the four-hour distance, each night ended with a phone call and I love you. In May, Casey and Abby moved to Stephenville with Collin and Stubbs!
Collin and Casey went to Austin for Collin's cousin's graduation. Collin walked around with the ring in his pocket almost all weekend trying to find the right time to ask. Casey had no idea that Collin had asked her parents a month before or even looked at rings. They ended up not getting any time away from the family until Sunday morning. Sunday morning, they had planned to go to breakfast on the rooftop restaurant at their hotel. The restaurant overlooks the hill country. When they arrived, there was literally no one in sight, not even a waitress. Collin and Casey went outside to look at the view (they had only seen it at night time), and Casey was looking out at the sun was still rising. When Casey turned around to look at Collin he was down on one knee, and said, "Casey will you marry me?" Casey said, “Are you serious?" She was definitely in shock, and then said, "yes of course!" Casey recalls them hugging for what seemed like forever and she could feel Collin still shaking from being nervous. An older man walked outside and asked them, “Are y’all honeymooners?" They replied with "no sir, we actually just got engaged." He said, “Well congrats! Do y’all know the lord and can I pray for y’all?” Casey and Collin said they would absolutely love that. The three of them prayed and Casey could not hold back tears. Finally, a waitress walked out to say congratulations, took pictures of the couple and shared that her and her husband have been together for the past 30 years. Collin and Casey then met all his family at their hotel and had breakfast with them, had a couple’s massage that afternoon, and enjoyed exploring downtown Austin. That night they celebrated with Casey's family in Stephenville at their home.
