With hope that these continued unprecedented times have become a little more predictable, we are excited to announce that we have re-planned our party for Saturday June 18, 2022. We certainly are ready to have a great time with all our friends and family! Of course, if (more) changes need to occur, we will keep you informed.
In the Summer of 2020 we tied the knot in a very small ceremony. Now that the pandemic is a little more understood, we can't wait to host one of the greatest parties Salt Lake City has ever seen, and celebrate our marriage with our favorite people: YOU! Music, drinks, eating, dancing, and general revelry will ensue upon arrival - there won't be any type of formal ceremony. Celebrating with our family and friends in the wonderful confines of Salt Lake City's Red Butte Garden is going to be an absolute treat. We are giddy with anticipation!
We are ready to let loose. Please don't expect a ceremony or a seated formal dinner, instead be prepared for plenty of music, eating and drinking at your own pace, visiting with old friends, and meeting a few true characters ; ) The casual vibe will be reflected in the "dress code." Ties are definitely not necessary (a pair of sharp scissors will be on hand), and comfortable dancing shoes are highly encouraged. The formality of this party will fall somewhere between a nice BBQ and traditional wedding receptions you may have previously attended. If you haven't been, Red Butte Garden is simply stunning. With living plants lining its indoor walls, and flora species of all types carefully cultivated in the many outdoor gardens, it's a great backdrop for a memorable night.
A few months after Alex moved to Salt Lake City (early 2017), we were introduced by a mutual friend – yes, an old-fashioned blind date setup! On our first meeting, at a local patio bar, we exchanged casual conversation when a late spring monsoon unleashed upon us. We hustled for cover under the eave as the drenching took hold. After the storm cleared, we got down to the real nitty-gritty by discussing our favorite characters on 'The Golden Girls' and the probability that the Utah Jazz would advance to the 2nd round of the NBA Playoffs. After a few dinner dates, concerts, a movie in the park, and a camping trip, our burgeoning love blossomed into a wonderful relationship. By the end of that year we were living together as a happy couple of 3 (Toby the tabby cat included). Fast forward a couple years to a calm sunset sail off the coast of Camden, Maine. Casey, surprised and delighted by Alex down on one knee, accepted his proposal for marriage. A few sips of champagne and a handful of oysters later, the groundwork for our life together began to take shape.
