About an hour south of Big Sky is the town West Yellowstone which is the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. This entrance provides access to Old Faithful, the Fountain Paint Pots, and the Grand Prismatic. Questions? The Gallatin River is a tributary of the Missouri River, stretching approximately 120 mi, across the states of Wyoming and Montana. Some of the best fly fishing in the world happens on this river, known for Rainbow Trout and also where "A River Runs Through It" was filmed.
Bozeman is the college town home of Montana State University. With many people moving there over the past few years, its growth is booming. Shopping, restaurants, and breweries will keep you busy for an afternoon or evening.
Lone Peak has plenty of activities such as hiking and mountain biking. You can also ride the gondola to the top of the mountain for an excellent view.
There are various public and private golf courses in the Big Sky vicinity, including Moonlight Basin and the Big Sky Golf Club.
