Why are you having a destination wedding?

Life is short and experiences are important. You are our closet friends and family and we wanted to spend a wonderful weekend of love together.

What about money and payments?

- We will not pay for any flights - We ask that each guest contributes $150 to help us with food and activities (please Venmo @cascade-lawrence-yee, phone 8530). - We will pay for: housing, food, booze, transportation back to the airport on Monday, group activities, and fun times - We will not pay for: transportation from the airport to the Airbnb

When/where should I fly into?

Festivities begin Friday afternoon on Jan 17, 2025. We recommend flying into Tulum, Mexico. They just opened an international airport! From there, it's about a 1 hour drive to the house. Alternatively, you can fly into Cancun. From Cancun it's a 1.5 hour drive.

So I need to book my own transportation from the airport to the Airbnb?
Answer
Yes. Since everyone will be arriving at different times, I don't want to be responsible for picking everyone up at the airport. The Airbnb does have a car service for about $150/4 people (one way). Let me know if you'd like more information.

Where are we staying?
Answer
We are all staying at Casa Ligera in Akumal, Mexico. Some people will have to share rooms, but there's 12 beds total so we will figure it out. Bring ear plugs! Can I bring a plus one?
Answer
Unless Cascade has explicitly given you a plus one, you may not bring a plus one. The house only sleeps 18 people, so we don't have room for anyone else.

What should I wear?

Beach formal. But mostly, be yourself! If there's something that's been sitting at the back of your closet, bring it! Let's get fancy.

What will the weather be like?
Answer
January is one of the nicest months in Mexico. Typical temperatures are mid 70s during the day and low 60s at night. There is typically little to no rain, but expect humidity and strong sea breezes.

What should I bring?

Swimsuit, towel, earplugs, comfy clothes, silly clothes for Friday night party, beach formal clothes for the wedding.

I'm a parent. What should I know?
Answer
- Parents are responsible for their own housing and transportation. We'd like you to arrive a day early so that we can all have dinner Thursday night. More details to come.

What activities are nearby?
Answer
There is a beach and snorkeling a 10 minute walk away. There is also a local cenote that we'd love to check out. If you're staying in the area longer, there's tons of Mayan ruins, more centoes, more beaches, and lots of good food.
