Fifteen years ago, Reynaldo moved from New York to Florida after completing his residency. He settled into his career at AdventHealth in Daytona Beach, later commuting from Orlando while continuing his work there. What he didn’t know was that his greatest blessing wasn’t in the hospital charts—it was on his way. In 2019, Nicole took a leap of faith. Trusting God’s plan, she accepted a position at AdventHealth Daytona Beach, believing it would be an incredible step for her career and her family. What she didn’t expect was that her true love was waiting for her in the CVICU. One busy day, Reynaldo rushed into the unit, worried about a case. He spoke quickly in Spanish, and to his surprise, Nicole responded back just as fluently—instantly putting him at ease. That moment sparked something neither of them could quite explain. Nicole was caught off guard by how strongly she felt meeting him, as though her heart whispered, *“Pay attention—this is different.”* Almost a year later, Reynaldo finally asked Nicole out as she waited. On August 29th, 2020, they had their first date at Chicas Cuban Café in DeLand, FL. Both were nervous, but within minutes, they couldn’t stop laughing at how much they had in common. Values, family dreams, even quirky habits—every discovery felt like a mirror. They kept accusing each other of copying, but the truth was clear: they were simply meant to be. After breakfast, Reynaldo suggested a stop at Bravo Supermarket. Wandering the aisles, they nearly broke into dance when Celia Cruz—Nicole’s favorite—played over the speakers. Neither was brave enough to start, but the spark of that almost-dance became one of their favorite memories. From then on, their love blossomed quietly at the hospital, with only one trusted coworker in on their secret. Nicole’s beloved dog, Ava, helped bring them closer—especially when Reynaldo helped Nicole move to a new apartment. Soon, weekend visits turned into building a shared life. Nicole eventually transferred to Orlando to continue as a Medical Social Worker, while Reynaldo launched his own business and continued his calling as an Internal Medicine hospitalist. Together, they grew—supporting each other’s dreams, strengthening their faith, and pouring their love into their home and community. Over the years, life brought challenges and triumphs, but their love only deepened. They built a beautiful family with their two dogs—Ava, a Standard Poodle, and Domino, a Frenchie. Their bond became unshakable, anchored in faith, laughter, and endless support. Reynaldo surprised Nicole with a trip to Las Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys for a weekend. But the real surprise came after dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen on August 23rd, 2025—Nicole’s dream spot. There, Reynaldo dropped to one knee and asked Nicole to marry him. Stunned, joyful, and overflowing with love, she said “yes” a million times. Now, Reynaldo and Nicole are excited to share that they’ll be married in 2026. Surrounded by their closest family and friends, they’ll celebrate not just a wedding, but a journey—one built on faith, laughter, and unshakable love.
