We're getting married!

Alex and Nick were neighbors on Nimitz Drive in Des Plaines when they met at 15 and 16 years old. Their parents introduced them with the intention of Nick driving Alex to or from school when needed (which was whenever Alex didn't feel like taking the bus). In the beginning, the days that they rode together to school, all they talked about was the weather. Literally: "so it's raining again..." "yeah..." - but soon the talking increased, both via text and in person until Nick asked Alex out on February 4th, 2012. They finished up their time at Maine West High School until they both started at Southern Illinois University in 2015. In 2016, they moved into their first apartment together where they adopted their two cats, Brooklyn and Meowyn. Alex and Nick love to travel, even if its just a short weekend trip. Whale watching & a Jimmy Fallon taping in L.A., snorkeling in Cancun, hiking Mount Denali in Alaska, their favorite trip so far was to Italy, where Nick proposed. Sitting on a pier in Amalfi, they sat admiring the scenery while eating Starbursts (the yellow ones are the best). When Nick got Alex to finally turn away from the coast, she was shocked to find him on one knee. After repeatedly asking "Really??", she said "Yes!"
