One of our favorite things to do in Aix-en-Provence is visit the local market in town. Here you will find the most beautiful displays of produce, cheese, cured meats, lavender products, jam/honey, clothing, artisanal goods and so much more! The market is every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 7AM-1PM. Do NOT miss it!

They also have a restaurant where you can have a delicious seaside lunch or sunset dinner. This place requires reservations and we recommend making one in advance as this is a VERY popular local spot!
This is an immersive art installation like no other! Marseille is home to one of the most stunning football stadiums in France. Home to the 'Olympique de Marseille' football team, this venue hosts a number of other events such as concerts and occasional rugby games. If you love football aka soccer in America, this is a place to see.
Gordes is one of the most beautiful and iconic cliff-side villages in Provence and its located about 30 minutes by car from Aix. Not only is the village itself incredibly charming and romantic, it is home to a number of shops, restaurants, and cafes to explore. You will feel like you stepped into a romance novel here!
About 1 hour by car outside of Aix is the special town of Saint-Remy-de-Provence, one of our favorite villages! This town is particularly famous for the market that takes place in town every Wednesday but is also home to a number of spectacular Provencal shops, boulangeries and restaurants. A visit to the market then lunch at Chateau Estoublon makes for a pretty amazing day!
Cassis is an extra special town for us because it is where we got engaged! But aside from that, the reason why we love Cassis so much is because of its rich character and colorful buildings. Located 45 minutes from Aix, this picturesque village is situated right on the harbor and is the perfect place to have an apero on the water while the sun is setting. Cassis is also home to some of the BEST white wine in Provence and a few of the wineries are conveniently located right in the middle of the town (such as Domaine du Bagnol and Domaine du Paternel) so we recommend you do an afternoon tasting too!
One hour from Aix is the unique town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue. This town has become famously known as the 'Antique Capital' and 'Venice of Provence' because of its massive amount of antique shops throughout the town with a large river going through the very center. Every Sunday there is a popular Antique Flea Market that is worth a visit, but the shops are open daily. From earthenware, to textiles and beyond, you are sure to find a treasure or two!
Café Leoube is the perfect place to savor the Provençal breeze over a fresh, seasonal lunch paired with a crisp glass of rosé. We suggest reserving a table for lunch, but start your visit with a stop at the vineyards tasting room to sample their full range of wines. After your meal, spend the afternoon unwinding on their private beach and soaking up the sun!
About 1.5 hours by car from Aix is Saint-Tropez, and this town is famous for a reason! Known for the mega yachts parked at the downtown harbor, high fashion, iconic restaurants and energetic beach clubs - you will find plenty of things to do while visiting Saint-Tropez. Saint-Tropez can be a bit more difficult to navigate for first timers, so don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need any help with planning!
