Our love story started the way some of the best stories do… with a blind date. What started as a date only one of us knew about turned into something neither of us expected. From the start, everything just felt easy — conversations that didn’t need forcing, laughter that came naturally, and a connection that made us both want a second date… and then another. Somewhere between those early days and everything that followed, we became best friends. We built a relationship full of trust, support, and a shared appreciation for both the big moments and the little ones. Whether it’s being outside, out on the water, relaxing at home, or just doing everyday life together, we’ve learned that it doesn’t really matter what we’re doing as long as we’re doing it together. Our lives may look a little different on paper. Ashley spends her days as a Labor & Delivery nurse, caring for others during some of life’s biggest moments, while also loving thrifting and iced coffee a little too much. Alex is happiest outdoors — whether that’s fishing, shooting, or working on his Suburban. Somehow, it all just fits. We balance each other in the best way, and together we’ve created a life that feels steady, fun, and completely our own. The best chapter yet began when Alex proposed in Hatteras before sunrise — after dragging Ashley out of bed at an hour she still hasn’t forgiven him for. (Trust us… you do not want to see those pictures.) But that simple “yes,” in such a meaningful place, was the perfect beginning to the next step in our story. It was everything we love: simple, intentional, and full of meaning. What started as a blind date turned into a love we’re endlessly grateful for. We’ve grown together, supported each other through every season, and built a foundation we can’t wait to carry into marriage. His Side (Alex) I’m not usually the talkative one, so it’s kind of funny that our story started with me going on a blind date. I didn’t really know what to expect, but from the moment we met, Ashley made everything feel easy. She brought out a side of me that not everyone gets to see. She’s outgoing, full of personality, and somehow always knows how to make me laugh — even when I’m trying to keep a straight face. She was always asking, “Are you going to marry me?” and my answer was always, “One day.” Well… “one day” is coming soon, and I couldn’t be more excited. She balances me in the best way, and if you know Ashley, you know life with her is never boring. Somehow, that one date turned into everything. I’m really lucky it did. Her Side (Ashley) If you know me, you know I’m definitely not the quiet one, so going on a blind date wasn’t exactly out of character for me. What I didn’t know, though, was that it was a blind date — at least not until he grabbed my hand walking through a haunted house. I definitely didn’t expect it to turn into this. From the beginning, there was something different about Alex. He’s calm, steady, and the kind of person who doesn’t have to say much to make you feel taken care of. He grounds me, supports me, and keeps me balanced in a way I didn’t know I needed. He may be quiet, but he’s everything I’ve ever wanted, and I’m so glad I said yes to a second date… and now forever. Now, we’re counting down the days until October 10, 2026, when we finally get to say “I do” and start forever together. We couldn’t be more excited to celebrate with all of you.
