Neither of us were looking for love when our paths first crossed in 2014. We were in our early 20’s and focused on having fun as we both worked towards our career goals. Tyler was in his second year in the Navy and I was a junior in college at EKU. It was December and we were both home in Ohio for the holidays. After a couple weeks of him asking to meet me while he was on leave, I finally agreed to spend New Years Eve with him. We met up at the Amann’s and I will never forget walking in and seeing him for the first time. He was wearing an orange flannel with his Carolina boots and a Busch Light in his hand..I call that the Tyler Carver starter pack :) We had 3 days together before he had to go back to Virginia and we were inseparable. Four years later and it feels like a dream that we are planning our wedding. Tyler was being deployed to Korea on February 15 so his mom and stepdad decided to make a visit the weekend before to say their good-byes. What I thought would be a normal night at our favorite weekend place, Decoy’s, turned into the happiest day of our lives yet. We pulled into the parking lot and the sunset was perfect over the water. Ty asked if I wanted to take a picture on the dock and I just assumed it was because he knew he looked good that night..lol. I turned around to grab him for the picture and there he was down on one knee. After a moment of disbelief, happy tears and asking if he was serious he told me to look up on the deck of the restaurant and I see my parents standing there with smiles from ear to ear. Best surprise ever! In each other we have found our best friend, our soul mate, our hunting buddy, our travel partner, a comfort in the bad times and a cheerleader in the good. We are so beyond excited to spend forever together and we hope you can join us on our big day!
