Our first date was at this climbing gym, and it has been a significant part of our lives before and during our dating years! It has bouldering, fitness/yoga classes, full gym area, and a cafe with beer and kombucha on tap! We love it, our dogs love it, 10/10 would recommend. Fun fact: some of our wedding pictures will be taken here!
Newfields is a beautiful art museum dropped in the center of lush gardens and next to 100 Acre Wood (see recommendation below). Inside you can walk through various art exhibits, and outside you can walk through gardens, visit the beer garden, or explore unique plants in the greenhouse. Fun fact: We watched the Total Eclipse at Newfields in 2024!
Open from dawn to dusk every day and always free, The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park is a 100-acre rural oasis situated in the heart of Indianapolis. A living sculpture park focused on experimentation, public interaction, and community engagement, it includes a 35-acre lake, woodlands, wetlands, and the largest native pollinator meadow in Indianapolis.
Kan Kan is our go-to place for an amazing cinematic experience, fantastic food, and unique cocktails. If you are a movie-going type, we would 10/10 recommend! Fun Fact: If you eat/drink in the restaurant portion, your bill comes in a DVD case.
The Stutz building is such a unique blend of all things Indy. You can see classic cars parked inside, eat brunch at Patachou (a famous local farm brunch spot), get coffee or a baked good at Amelia's (a popular Indy bakery), or browse through copious amounts of plants at Grounded Plant & Floral Co.
Beer, food, cars, and a laid back feel. Do we need to say more?
Upland is a classic Indiana brewery. It has a laid back feel and excellent brews. Tyler loves the sours and Karina loves the Little Dragon. Fun Fact: We had our first kiss in at Upland!
Monument Circle is the heart of Indianapolis. Indy is nick-named "Circle City," and this extensive round-about is one of the reasons why. In the center of the round-about is a beautiful monument and large fountain, and inside the monument is a museum. From the Circle, you can see the State Capitol building just down the street. Local shops line the circle for you to explore. Fun fact: Tyler used to live in an apartment on the Circle!
This park is absolutely gorgeous! It is a green grassy knoll located in downtown Indianapolis. It is connected to The Canal (see recommendation below), looks over the White River, backs up to the NCAA headquarters and museum, and one of our favorite outdoor music venues - the White River Amphitheater. It is perfect for strolling, picnicking, and soaking up some nature in the heart of the city. Fun fact: When dating, Karina and Tyler would often bike to see shows at White River Amphitheater.
This canal walk is a beautiful staple in Indianapolis. Walk or bike along the canal to see various restaurants, homes, a hotel, the state museum, local businesses, and a large park. You can also rent paddle boats or gondolas if you want to experience the canal on the water. Fun fact: The Canal Walk is part of the Indiana Central Canal, which was dug in the early 1800s, in an effort to facilitate interstate commerce. Today, the refurbished Canal Walk (stretching north through White River State Park to 11th Street) serves the downtown community as a waterside promenade for walkers, runners, bikers and sightseers
This Food Hall has food for anyone's palate! They have sushi to poke to Indian to burgers to tacos (and more!). Fun fact: this is where Karina and Tyler went to eat on their first date!

Moar is a poke and a boba tea spot. It is our go-to fresh food spot. Their produce is fresh, their fish cuts are delicious, and their presentation is always on point. There were a good few months where we went here EVERY week. It is our favorite fresh food spot in Indy!
