We met our freshman year of high school, but it was not until late in our senior year that we started dating. After spending the summer after our senior year together, we both decided it was important to pursue our original goals; Jake enlisted in the Air Force and Morgan moved to Arizona to attend Grand Canyon University. Maintaining our relationship long distance was challenging, but we knew we were both committed for the long haul.
On one of our few trips home, we planned a getaway to San Luis Obispo. After a day of hiking and attending a food festival, we ended the day at the beach where we planned to take pictures at sunset. Much to Morgan's surprise, Jake (with the help of his 2 older sisters) had additional plans. On the beach at sunset, down on one knee, Jake proposed and Morgan said YES!
What a year! As we creeped into month three of the pandemic, our original Fall wedding plans were looking less and less promising each day. After numerous phone calls with the venue and our amazing wedding planner, we made the difficult decision to postpone the day we dreamed of for so long. Although the event in California was going to have to wait, we had our hearts set on getting married on October 23, 2020; So we did. We were blessed with the most intimate and beautiful ceremony, officiated by our hometown Pastor, at a park in our new home, Wichita, Kansas. Now, we are counting down to the wedding of our dreams surrounded by all of our friends and family.
