In January of 2021, Sam's best friend and maid of honor, Caroline, invited her on a ski trip to Cannon Mountain (Sam's home mountain) with all of Caroline's college friends. When Sam met up with them at Cannon, she was introduced to all of the friends at the Mitersill lift. Later on when time for lunch, everybody got together at Peabody lodge. Sam will never forget the moment Carter took off his helmet and she saw him for the first time. She leaned over to Caroline and said "Who is that? He is sooo cute." That was just the beginning of all of Sam's friends hearing that line over and over again. Besides a quick introduction, Sam and Carter didn't chat much that weekend. Fast forward a few months later to November 2021. Sam was living in South Boston, when again, Caroline invited her out to join for a night of fun in the city with her UNH friends. After being hesitant to go out that night, Sam and her two roommates decided to go. The three walked into D's Keys in Boston and as they were walking in, Carter was walking by the front door. Sam immediately turned to the girls and said "that's Caroline's friend Carter, he is sooo cute." Sam and Carter hit it off that night and the rest is history. They each lived in South Boston with friends for a few years before moving in together in the suburbs in Mansfield, MA. After apartment living for a year, they bought their first home in Foxboro, MA in July 2024. They love to travel out West to ski, and got engaged at one of their favorite mountains, Arapahoe Basin in November 2025. To this day, their favorite place and thing to do is ski together at Cannon Mountain. The place they first met and are now getting married!
