Our love story started in 7th grade, when we first became friends. By 8th grade, we were dating and went to the 8th grade dinner dance together. Over the years, we have always stayed a part of each other’s lives, and throughout high school, we kept finding our way back to each other. By senior year, we had grown close again. On June 22, 2022, after spending the day at Carter’s family’s hunting cabin, eating pizza and riding the four wheeler down gravel roads, we decided to make things official again, this time for the last time. That cabin quickly became a place that means so much to us, where we have celebrated anniversaries, made memories, and spent time doing what we love most, being outside together. We both went on to attend the University of Iowa, living in the same dorm freshman year and then just a couple blocks away from each other after that. More than anything, we have always been best friends, growing up side by side. On February 27, 2026, in that same place that holds so many memories for us, we got engaged at the cabin. We are so grateful for the way the Lord has guided our relationship and brought us to this moment, and we are so excited for what is ahead.
