Visiting Africam Safari offers a chance to experience our wedding venue in a whole new light! This place holds a special spot in our hearts, and we’re excited to share its wonders with you. Enjoy a thrilling safari tour through expansive preserve and observe majestic animals from a double decker bus with a panoramic view. * There will be organized transportation to/from downtown Puebla for a full-day group safari on Wednesday, February 12th. Sign-ups for the double decker bus tour will be available closer to the date of the event, so please check back here ** Africam Safari also offers more hands-on "Experiencias Exclusivas" with select animals, please use the link below to book one, and mention you’re part of the Mettey-Sandzimier wedding. We highly recommend the giraffe and lemur experiences.

Secret Tunnels of Puebla
The Secret Tunnels of Puebla offer a glimpse into the city's hidden history. Dating back to colonial times, these underground passageways were used for defense and secret movements. They played a notable role during the Battle of Cinco de Mayo in 1862, aiding Mexican forces with strategic troops and supplies. Guided tours reveal the fascinating history and significance of these mysterious tunnels beneath Puebla’s streets. We have a lot of fond memories at Museo Amparo! It offers a captivating collection of pre-Hispanic, colonial, and contemporary art within a beautifully restored colonial building. As you explore the exhibits, be sure to enjoy the stunning view from the rooftop, where the city’s charm comes to life against the backdrop of the surrounding mountains.
Uriarte Talavera Factory
The Uriarte Talavera Factory, a true gem in Puebla, has been crafting exquisite Talavera pottery since 1824. Here, you’ll witness the time-honored techniques used to create these beautifully hand-painted ceramics, each piece a work of art. When we lived in Puebla, we took up ceramics as a hobby, and after trying our hand at making Talavera, we gained a deep respect for the incredible craftsmanship that goes into every piece. Visiting Uriarte offers not just a glimpse into this rich tradition, but also an appreciation for the skill and dedication of its artisans. Great Pyramid of Cholula
The Great Pyramid of Cholula, located in the nearby town of Cholula, is a must-see ancient wonder. It’s the largest pyramid by volume in the world, though the Spaniards decided to add their own touch with a colonial church on top. Explore the vast base and enjoy the climb to the top for breathtaking views. Afterward, we recommend heading to Licorería San Pedrito, a nearby rooftop bar where we like to enjoy the view.

El Mural de los Poblanos is our favorite restaurant in Puebla for so many reasons. The delicious local cuisine, including the city’s famous mole, makes every meal a delight. The vibrant mural inside adds a splash of color and celebrates Puebla’s rich history and culture. It’s a perfect blend of fantastic food and artistic charm that makes it a very special place. Keep an eye out for Regina's grandfather, El Capitan Carlos Camacho, in the mural, and ask your servers about any of the art.
