It’s happening!

We met in shark infested waters… Inflatable sharks at a “Jaws on the Water” pool movie night. Surrounded by a floating audience, neither of us were really paying attention when Brody exclaimed “You’re gonna need a bigger boat.” We were too busy whispering to each other about our music preferences, favorite shows, graphic novels, and tattoo stories. Many movie nights followed, a blur of Dazed and Confused (“Alright, alright, alright.”), The Shining (“Heeeere’s Johnny!”), and Romy and Michele (“I invented post-its.”). As these famous scenes faded into the background, one thing stayed the same: More and more conversations about our histories, needs, goals, and futures. The more time we spent together, the more we knew we’d both found our person. The years that followed included some pretty wild real life shared experiences too: pandemic dance parties, new jobs, one-eyed dogs joining our crew, hundreds of inside jokes, and unexpectedly swimming with actual (non-inflatable) alligators. But the best moments surrounded us each asking the other a very important question. Landon proposed by the Caribbean coast. Carter proposed back with a furry new addition to the family. We both had the same answer. We’ve had so many late night talks about beginning this next chapter in our relationship, and every day we get closer sparks even more excitement about what comes next. We can’t wait for the day to be here when we both get to say “I do” to the person we can’t imagine life without, surrounded by people we love and who have been with us throughout this adventure.
