Grant Nieland, from Omaha, Nebraska, is the groom’s oldest brother and has always been a major influence in Carter’s life. As the eldest of the three boys, Grant set the tone for what it meant to be a role model, especially when it came to basketball. Carter’s love for the sport was sparked by watching Grant play at the collegiate level, and Grant later coached Carter through his younger years, passing down both his skills and his passion for the game. Now a husband and father of three, Grant continues to inspire Carter.
