We Can't Wait To Celebrate With You!

{Kiki's Story} It was Wednesday, November 24, our first full day back on Maui for Thanksgiving break. I thought I knew the plans- hike La Perouse, hang out at Makena, watch the sunset and go dinner at Cafe Olei. Little did I know…these were not our only plans. As the sun started setting I thought it was the perfect time to take some cute Maui pics at the beach. So we walked down to the water with my mom to get a photo. Carter kept pushing us farther down the beach and my response was “are you embarrassed to take a photo in front of people?” He didn’t really say much but I went with it and kept walking. We finally stopped and I just started posing for the camera. The moment I finally processed what was actually happening is when Carter grabbed my arms, turned me towards him, said something along the lines of “I have something to ask you” as he was fiddling in his back pocket. OMG WAIT WHAT THIS IS HAPPENING is what I was thinking at that exact moment. From that moment I don’t really remember what either one of us said, I was so surprised! But of course, I said YES! {Carter's Story} It was a beautiful morning in Maui as we woke up and enjoyed our coffee. Having a full day planned, we packed a picnic, hit the road, and traveled south to hike the lava rocks at La Perouse Bay. After enjoying the afternoon on the several small coves that lie between the rocky points we made the short trip to Makena Beach to enjoy the sun going down. With the ring in my back pocket and the undercover photographer in position, it was finally time. As the sun was setting, I suggested a walk along the shoreline and Kiki said, "Yes, let go take a photo" (typical Kiki). As we approached the end of the beach little did Kiki know the photographer, blending in like any other beachgoer was only a few feet away. I got Kiki's attention, rustled in my back pocket, dropped to one knee, and asked Kiki to marry me. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Maui!
