As true millennials, we met on a dating app while we were both living in Hawaii. Alisha had been teaching on Oahu for two years and Carter was stationed there with the Marines. Our first date was a hike on the west side, which turned out to be one of many we did together in the next year. We clicked right away and fairly early on we had realized this was “something special”. We enjoyed the rest of 2019 together on the island before Carter was deployed to Okinawa, Japan. Soon after his return from Japan, in the summer of 2020, Carter was sent to work in South Carolina, and our long-distance relationship continued. After one more year in Hawaii, Alisha decided to make the leap and move to Beaufort, SC. After half a year of adjustment, adventure, and love, we added a puppy to our family in early 2022, naming him Kona, a nod to our time in Hawaii. It had been the most incredible 3 years of our lives, which lead to our engagement on July 5th, 2022! We can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us!
