Ben started work at The Rock Community Church in August of 2016. Everyone on staff immediately loved Ben. The women began praying for a girl for Ben as they grew to know what a great guy he is. Little did everyone know that the next hire at The Rock, Jenni, would be Ben’s future wife. Jenni started working at The Rock in October of ‘16. Almost as soon as she started there, the inquiries of her love life and suggestions of the only other single person on staff, who happened to be male, as a viable option began. Both Ben and Jenni were suggested for one another and both of them insisted that just because they were single was NOT a good enough reason to date. However, it only took a couple months for both of them to begin gaining interest in the other. By December, Jenni had shared the prospect with some girlfriends, while Ben became aware of feelings beginning. The next few months were that of talking more at work and spending more time with friends. After some flirtatious behavior and jokes, an “Is this a date?” Rockies game, and some awkward patience required by Jenni, the talk and decision to date finally came on May 5 of 2017. Since then, Ben and Jenni came to know and love each other deeply. Even more so, it became apparent how God had been working for so long to prepare and bring them together. While the two discussed the fact they wanted to get married, the engagement was still mostly a surprise to Jenni. The day after Christmas, after a lovely dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse and a chilly but beautiful walk through the Christmas Lights at Denver Botanic Gardens, Ben proposed. It was sweet and emotional for both of them. Between the crying and the hugging and nodding yes, Ben shared a wonderful song with Jenni about getting to marry her. As in usual fashion for Jenni, planning immediately begun. They are both so excited to marry one another and share that with all those they love and care for.
