We first officially met in eighth grade as we both played percussion at our middle schools. At the beginning of freshman year of high school, we both joined marching band and ended up in the same friend group! Carson played the tenor drums and Sydney was in the front ensemble, and we bonded over our shared interest in percussion. Over the next 4ish months, we became good friends, then best friends, and developed a little crush on each other hehe:)

Second semester freshman year, Carson asked Sydney to go out with him on a bus ride home from a marching band competition:) We went on a walk through a local park and got frozen yogurt after!

Throughout high school, we continued to do marching band and indoor percussion together:) We went to dances together like homecoming and prom! Fun fact, we were prom king and queen of our band prom haha! (our school's prom overlapped with a competition day) And every anniversary, we dressed up and went on a fancy dinner date! In the spring of 2022, we graduated from Franklin Central High School together:)

Carson and Sydney both went to Purdue University, Carson studying Aerospace Engineering and Sydney studying Human Services and Psychology. We both joined a campus ministry, Cru, where we met many of our close college friends and roommates!! Through Cru, we went on mission trips together, led Bible studies, and grew in our faith individually and together:) We made a new tradition of having our anniversary date at the fancy restaurant in the Purdue Memorial Union every year!

Carson proposed to Sydney by first taking her to a restaurant that is sentimental to us, and while we ate, he had her college roommates decorate a nearby gazebo. When we left the restaurant, he walked her over to the gazebo filled with lights, flower petals, and candles, where he asked her to marry him:) Afterwards, he drove us to his parents' house, where he had planned a surprise engagement party with friends and family!

We will have been together for a little over 7 YEARS when we say "I do", crazy! We are now finishing out our senior years at Purdue and enjoying the process of wedding planning together as we approach graduation!

We were in the same preschool class and didn't find this out until after we started dating and were looking through old pictures!
