When Marshall moved down to Florida, they were both dating other people, but became good friends. Carson showed Marshall the weird and wonderful things Tallahassee has to offer and Marshall reignited Carson's childhood love of the Coast. In the years to follow, they bought a house together, adopted their dog Sunny girl, stood under many waterfalls, hiked, fished, camped, played pick-up soccer, and even became Aunt and Uncle. In September of 2019, they went on an epic adventure to the Olympic Peninsula, exploring the rainforest, beaches, and waterfalls - it was on this trip that Marshall popped the question, on the top of Mount Townsend. He proposed with Carson's grandmother's ring that she didn't know existed. She cussed and then cried after he was already crying/mumbling/fumbling on rocks down on one knee and of course Carson said yes!
