We met in January 2019 when Maggie was studying abroad at Bond University in Australia. We kept in touch only a few hours per day due to the time change. We FaceTimed, texted, Snapchatted, talked on Instagram, and used every other platform to communicate... all at once, every single day. We decided on Maggie's way home from Australia that we were going to meet for the first time at LAX for a long weekend. Looking back now, we both realize how WILD this is! We stayed a few nights together in an Airbnb, sharing the space with a random man who owned the place. We explored the city, trying new restaurants and food, coffee shops, and bars. We realized at this time that we truly had the same life aspirations, enjoyed doing the same things, and that we actually liked each other in person! Fast forward to April 28th, 2019 when we started dating. Carson was a senior in college, Maggie a junior at the University of St. Thomas (Roll Toms)! We both cared deeply about our education and future, both completing graduate school in the years following. We learned about our shared love for learning, Maynards, going on motorcycle rides, and looking for morel mushrooms. We started living together in an apartment in 2021 and bought our first house together in 2022. About one year after that we welcomed our Golden Retriever, Buck. In March 2024 Carson proposed on Isla Mujeres, a small island off of Cancun, Mexico... Maggie's favorite place. Since then, we have been planning the wedding of our dreams in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, our first destination vacation together.
