Well, they did things a little backwards but wouldn't have it any other way! Matt and Carrisa met in 2021 when Carrisa moved in next door. Both socially awkward, it took them a few weeks to meet but finally came face to face when Matt wandered across the street to where Carrisa was celebrating a friend's birthday. He spotted her sitting on the porch and fell in love. Ok, maybe not love, but she piqued his interest! They hit it off, exchanged numbers (and possibly a kiss), and Carrisa flew off to Arkansas the next day. A week later Matt heard Carrisa was home (literally heard her through the wall, she can be quite loud) and texted her to ask her out to dinner. Carrisa, being the socially awkward free spirit she is, brushed him off with a "yeah someday, I'm just really busy right now!" Matt would not be deterred! He decided to shoot his shot one more time when Carrisa was on her way back across the street to hang out with friends. He offered to buy her a drink, she was too caught off guard to come up with an excuse, and two weeks later she was demanding to know if he was her boyfriend. Obviously, Matt accepted his new role as boyfriend with grace and three years later they have a beautiful life together. 2021 brought two chronically single individuals together and they fell fast in love! In 2022 they officially moved in together (she didn't have far to go since they already shared a wall) and later moved to Folsom. When tragedy struck Carrisa's family, Matt stood by her side and became her rock bringing their relationship even closer. Their relationship stronger than ever, they entered 2023. In June they found out they were expecting a baby! Little did Carrisa know, Matt had bought a ring and had been planning to propose. He put his master plan in motion in July while camping in Big Sur. He picked the most perfect spot overlooking a waterfall for the two of them to be alone so he could pop the question and of course she said yes! And so the planning began, a great feat considering they were crazy enough to have a baby and a wedding the very next year. Emily May DiBella was born February 3rd 2024. Her middle name honoring her uncle Mason (May May), she brought joy, unconditional love, and many sleepless nights to Matt and Carrisa's life. Their family growing, they are SO excited to take the next step by getting married. They can't wait to celebrate their special day with you!
