Our story began on New Year's Eve 2014. By a trick of fate, we met at a party and found ourselves standing by a bonfire talking about music. “I like bands like Dr. Dog” I said. “Oh, I love Dr. Dog” she replied. With disbelief and the thought that nobody had ever heard of them, I said “Nobody likes Dr. Dog!” Before we knew it, it was midnight and we shyly wished each other a Happy New Year. Any other night, I'm sure we would have stayed there talking until sunrise. Instead we said our goodbyes with a hug and went our separate ways, not knowing that it was just the beginning. A week later, she sent me a friend request and I replied with a "You found me" message and a Where's Waldo picture. Our greatest adventure began. Adventure is out there and we found it in one another. As our relationship grew, so did the limits of what we ever thought was possible. Together, we explored wherever our whim would take us. Across the country and beyond the sea, the world was ours. We viewed it through airplane windows, endless roadtrips, nights sleeping in the back of cars, or at the back of venues between sets. One of our biggest adventures, was packing up our things, along with our dog, and moving to a different state. Even though we would be away from our friends and families, we knew we'd be happy as long as we were together. We knew we were ready for our next chapter, so we took an anniversary trip to celebrate 10 years together. Tucked away in a corner, in a dimly lit bar after our night hadn't gone according to plan, I reminded her that not everything will always go the way we would hope, but it's not about the destination it's about the journey and the bonds you form along the way. The perfect moment may come and go before you realize it's there, or it may never arrive at all. But none of that matters as long as you're standing by my side. I asked her to marry me and now we are starting our greatest adventure yet.
