Liza is one of Carrie's best friends from Grinnell College. They met during Spanish classes and in the pool and have been close ever since. Liza lives in Vermont with her partner Brendan and their dog Gus. She is working on her PhD in ecology and conservation biology at the University of Vermont.

Kristen is Carrie's younger sister and one of her closest friends. She lives in California with her cute little Pomeranian named Pippin and works as an editor for Human Rights Watch.
Katie Sibbald

Katie is Carrie's older sister and the organizer of the family. She lives in Eugene, Oregon with her dogs Fen (border collie/Aussie) and teeny little Minnie (teacup Pomeranian). She is a financial fraud specialist.
Katherine Velicki

Katherine is one of Carrie's best friends from medical school. They met in St. Louis and have since had numerous adventures cycling, backpacking and making their way through medical training. She now lives in Portland, Oregon and is at Oregon Health and Sciences University for her residency in orthopedic surgery.
Beth Gillig

Beth is another of Carrie's close friends from college at Grinnell. They met on the swim team and shared countless hours in the pool together. She lives in Massachusetts currently and attends occupational therapy school in New Hampshire.
Kai Smagalski

Kai is Carrie's best friend from high school. They grew up in Petaluma with Carrie and became best friends with her in Junior High. They live in LA with their husband Austin, two huskies, and kitty. They are currently working on a masters in therapy to help LGBTQ families.
Kevin Michels

Kevin is one of Wyatt's best friends and roommate from college at Lindenwood. He currently lives in Des Moines with his wife Merideth and works as a dispatcher.
Chase Renfroe

Chase is a good friend of Carrie and Wyatt's from their time in St. Louis. He met them while Carrie was in medical school and has known the couple for their entire relationship. He lives in St. Louis with his partner Bri and their two dogs. He is currently in his anesthesiology residency at Wash U in St. Louis.
Travis Weyers

Travis is one of Wyatt's best friends from childhood. He grew up with Wyatt spending countless hours playing video games and exploring Nebraska. He lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with his wife Anne. He works as a housing loan specialist.
Trevor Hohbein

Trevor is one of Wyatt's best friends from childhood. They went to high school together and drove their parents crazy playing too many video games. He currently lives in Madison, Wisconsin, but is moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota soon. He works in finance.
Akshay Kashyap

Akshay is Wyatt's closest friend in medical school. They met when they were placed in a small group together first year and have been friends ever since. Akshay has indulged Wyatt's love of Indian food over the years. He currently lives in Omaha, Nebraska. He is starting his fourth year of medical school with Wyatt this year.
Gary Huang

Gary is a friend of Wyatt's from their time in St. Louis together. They met in a neurobiology class at Wash U while Wyatt was in his gap years before medical school. Gary showed Wyatt all the best places for Chinese food in St. Louis. He currently lives in Houston, Texas and is working on his PhD.
