Lake of the Isles Pencil

Its like the name says- its a giant pencil! The story goes that the homeowners had a 100+ year old tree that lost its canopy in a storm, leaving just the big trunk of the tree. Instead of cutting it down, the owners decided to have it made into a sculpture in the style of Claes Oldenburg. Every year on the first Saturday in June, they host a "Pencil Sharpening" where they actually sharpen the pencil, ensuring that it is a living sculpture.
