Story as Told by Carrie: Paul and I both attended the University of California, Irvine from 2009-2013. As freshman we only lived a few buildings away from each other but never met our Freshman year. UCI was established in 1965, at the beginning of the hippie generation and the students were very much a part of the hippie, anti-establishment movement and you can tell by some of the naming and traditions that are still at the institution today. Paul and I both lived in Middle Earth (the faculty loved Lord of the Rings) and Paul lived in Shadowfax while I lived in Aldor. Freshman year I had two roommates and we lived in a 5'x14' room. While I had pretty much nothing in common with one of my roommates and I haven't spoken to her since college, my other roommate is my lifelong best friend. Erika and I met first day of Freshman year and continued to live together all four years of college. While I majored International Studies, Erika majored in Psych and minored in Education. She noticed a guy that was in almost all of her classes. By fall of 2010 Sophomore year, this guy was not only in her classes but lived in our building. While Erika tends to be a bit more shy, she felt compelled to finally introduce herself to this guy. His name was Marco and lived on the same floor of our apartment building and had the same major and minor as Erika. After calling each other stalkers, they ended up studying together and we all became friends. Marco invited us to a party at his house. I was hesitant to go because I didn't know any of his friends or roommates. Erika and I had another party to go to anyway (I promise we didn't party THAT much lol) so I was ok with stopping by. I remember walking in and noticing Paul. I had a boyfriend at the time so while I thought he was cute, all we did was talk. Even though that was the first time we met Paul, Erika, Marco and I took a picture together that night. Fast forward to Fall 2011, we started dating and the rest is history!
