Both Carrie and J.R. are extremely thankful that the Covid fog of the last year is finally lifting and the possibility of celebrating our wedding with everyone we love so much feels safe to have a celebration outdoors! Understanding that these are uncertain times, both J.R. and Carrie hope to celebrate with our friends and family in a safe (vaccinated) ,comfortable manner.
Carrie and J.R. had met a few times through their mutual friend, Andy Collier. Then at Meredith and Aaron Finley's wedding, J.R. and Carrie got a chance to talk and get to know each other. Before the wedding was over, J.R. asked for Carrie's number!.... and then never called.... Flash forward to over a year later, at Andy's Festivus party, J.R. was really "chatting Carrie up". He asked her for her number, and she told him he already had it, but had never called. (You can imagine the tone..). Sure enough, her number was in his phone... J.R. called Carrie the next day this time! A few days later, they went on their first date to Cho Sun OK and had an amazing time. The first date was quickly followed by more and they've been together ever since.
J.R. completely surprised Carrie with his proposal. The day we closed on our house, we walked in after signing all the paper work and were basking in the joy of homeownership. J.R. even got champagne! Carrie thought that was such a thoughtful way to celebrate. J.R. really wanted to look out the picture window for some reason. The next thing Carrie knew, he was down on one knee. She asked him if he was serious and told him that wasn't a funny joke. But he was serious.
