It’s Simply Meant To Be

Our friendship started sometime during high school. We didn't think much of it then, but had remained close friends for several years. It took four different duty stations (for Cody) and a bachelor of science degree (for Carrie) for the stars to finally aline. We hadn't seen each other in several years and after a few hours of catching up at Dog and Duck it was as if things had finally "clicked." The moment we hugged, it was as if we had never lost touch.

As some of you may (or may not) know, Halloween is our FAVORITE holiday. Every year Honky Tonk Saloon holds a big halloween party with costume contests, prizes, and just overall lots of Spooky Fun! While Carrie was planning costumes, Cody was planning a surprise (with the help of a few friends). We finally decided on Jack and Sally Skellington from Tim Burton's, the Nightmare Before Christmas and entered the couples costume contest. The time came, and round after round of voting, we started to believe it was possible to win! While Carrie was accepting the prize for third place (shoutout to Bald Monkey Beanery for the coffee coupon), Cody had taken the microphone! Everyone started screaming as soon as he said "So babe, we've known each other a long time..." Next thing Cody is down on one knee, in front of EVERYONE, asking "will you marry me?" If you ask Cody, "Carrie was running away so he had to make it quick."
