Our Love Story

Our love story begins in February of 2012 at UW-Stevens Point where Carrie was a freshman and Alex was a junior who had transferred from UW-Oshkosh. One Friday evening, they were introduced through a mutual friend (Carrie’s roommate, Chandler). Unexpectedly, they both instantly hit it off and they ended up spending the rest of that semester hanging out, watching movies and getting lunch together. On April 21st of 2012, they had finally made it official and that was just the beginning of their new adventure together. Today, Carrie and Alex currently live in an apartment with their two adopted cats (aka fur babies), Scotch and Sambuka. Alex is working as a city carrier at the Beaver Dam post office while Carrie is working as a clerk at the Lowell post office. They both still enjoy watching all the movies together (even the bad movies Alex makes Carrie suffer though watching...) taking spontaneous road trips, kayaking, going to Milwaukee Bucks games and hanging out with friends. Alex especially enjoys all the cooking Carrie does (she loves to cook, bake and collect cookbooks) and has been doing ever since they first started living together.

The Proposal

On June 3rd 2018, Alex finally popped the question that Carrie had been so patiently waiting to say yes to... rewind a few months back where they had decided to take one of their spontaneous day road trips to Madison to go shopping. They grabbed lunch at one of their favorite places to eat, Chick-fil-A. What Carrie then thought was going to be a normal shopping trip turned out to be a stop at the jewelry store to look for ideas of her soon to be engagement ring. Fast forward just a few short weeks, where Alex had planned a dinner date with their close friends, Cody and Zoey. They had dinner at Fox River Brewing Company in Oshkosh where Alex decided to get down on one knee and ask Carrie to marry him. Carrie was aware that Alex was planning to purchase an engagement ring but was not expecting for him to pop the question that particular evening in that crowded restaurant and still surprised, she of course said YES!

Planning a Wedding

In July of 2018, Carrie and Alex took their first big road trip together, driving out to Maryland to visit some of Alex’s family as well as visit a good friend in Washington D.C. They were enjoying being happily engaged, finally, so wedding planning really was not on their minds for them at the moment. With both of them working full time jobs, they had actually been looking into purchasing a home this spring. Recently they had started tossing some wedding ideas back and forth, even considered a possible elopment. Then randomly one late January evening they came across the perfect venue they wanted to book and soon decided on a date. They both told their parents of their plans who were very happy and supportive. Carrie and Alex then went from the thought of possibly eloping, to instead finding and booking the perfect venue where they will hold their small, intimate wedding on April 6th, 2019, with all of their close family and friends to help celebrate their love and marriage.
