Things To Do

Fresno Chaffee Zoo

894 West Belmont Avenue, Fresno, CA 93728

The Fresno Chaffee Zoo is one of our favorite places to visit when we have a few extra moments. The Zoo recently expanded with the Kingdoms of Asia exhibit! There is a fee to park and an entrance fee to the zoo; you can get a combo ticket that allows you to experience feeding a giraffe and the stingrays. We highly recommend sitting in the outdoor seating section of the Lodge and watching the animals as they explore the African Savanna.

Old Town Clovis

Clovis, CA 93612

Old Town Clovis includes a variety of shops, restaurants, antique stores, and local history. The Old Town Farmers Market is held throughout the summer on Friday nights and a Saturday morning Community Market can be found here, too.

Blackbeard's Family Entertainment

4055 North Chestnut Diagonal, Fresno, CA 93726

We went here for our first date and played a round of minigolf. I'm pretty sure we can all figure out who won.... This place has an old-school arcade, bumper boats, a go-cart track, and mini golf. It is definitely an "all ages" venue; we suggest looking online for a deal before going.

A Book Barn

640 Clovis Avenue, Clovis, CA 93612

If you are looking for an odd assortment of used books that fit just about any genre, this place is for you! The Book Barn is located in Old Town Clovis in an old two-story building. It has just about every type of book that you can possibly think of and, if by chance they do not have it in stock, the owners know how to get it. It's a great way to pass some time!

Woodward Park

7775 N Friant Rd, Fresno, CA 93720

This is one of our largest public parks in Fresno. It includes a BMX track, a dog park, walking trails, a dog park, an authentic Japanese Garden, and three playgrounds. There is a fee for vehicles to enter into the park and there is no parking on the street around the park.

Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks

CA

This is one of our favorite places to take a drive to. The main part of Kings Canyon has been closed since the winter of 2022, but some of the trails at the visitors center are still open. Please check the website for updates and be sure to fill up on gas / take water and snacks before starting the drive. The drive is not for the faint of heart! It is beautiful and rivals that of YNP.
