We were just kids when we first met. Spring Break, 2008. We weren't doing the normal Spring Break thing, we were riding four - wheelers. I don't know how or why he thought I was so cute way back then, but he did. After we were done for the day, he messaged me on MySpace ( I know, I know it's so lame) and we haven't stopped talking since! Now 12 years later, I've moved to a new town and will be getting a new last name. So thank you social media and Spring Break for the greatest love story I could have ever dreamed of!

This is still the perfect moment for me every single time I think about it so I just had to tell y'all! The trip to Bellingrath had been planned for a few weeks and my family has always talked about going so when it was planned, I didn't think much about it. Everything that happened that entire day should have made me question that something was up, but I didn't pick up on what was going on (obviously). We make plans to take two different vehicles, which isn't surprising because of the child plus a car seat. So we leave for Bellingrath and Daniel is quiet while he's driving, but that's not a surprise because Ava and I are super loud. We finally get there, and when we start walking through I'm noticing nobody is walking around Daniel and I. I, of course, am not even considering anything is going to happen. We are walking some more and we stop to take a break, Daniel disappears and then shows back up about 5 minutes later, still not surprising to me because he never sits still or he'll fall asleep (ha ha)! Then we start back to walking, and we start around the lake. If you've ever been to Bellingrath or even if you haven't just know the lake is not half way. We make it (what we thought) almost the end, so Daniel and I decide that was a good spot to take a picture. Little did I know that the picture was going to turn into the most exciting day of our life so far! Next thing I know, Daniel is on one knee, there's a box with a ring in it, and my 4 year old is screaming..... After that I look at my family, who got to witness the entire thing, just like I wanted and then I realize standing beside them is Daniel's mom, sister, niece, and grandma. I'm surprised and everybody there knew what was happening. Like many nights of our relationship, we ate at Waffle House. It was perfect. Fun fact: we got engaged on Pearl Harbor, Daniel says he's glad I talked about it because now he will always remember the date.
