We met at a German bakery in old town Arvada, CO called "Rheinlander". Little did I piece together the commonalities between the bakery name and this man I was about to meet, Ryan Landers. We talked for hours, ignoring the reality that we were drinking coffee outside....in the winter....during pre-vaccination Covid times. It was an instant connection. From that moment on, we continued to adventure together starting with some Colorado hikes. Then we graduated to road trips, where our first stress test as a couple began when my pup, Peaches, locked us out of the car in the middle of Mexican Hat, UT. From there we modified our transportation from car to plane, visiting the alligators in Florida, the hills of Tennessee, the bustle of NYC all the way to the volcanoes of Hawaii. Throughout all of these travels, our friendship and love for each other only deepened. We continue to make each other laugh on the daily. We are so excited for this next chapter in our lives and to share it with you!
Our third date we went on a 8 mile hike up to Brainard Lake in the dead of winter, south of Rocky Mountain National Park. I (Bonnie) had micro-spikes, so the trails which involved ice and snow came easily for me. For Ryan, he had to maintain a fast pace walk with only hiking boots on. It was our first big hike together and was one for our memory books. Flash forward to November 27th, 2021, Ryan wanted to go hiking back to this same area. Even though it was frigid cold up there, Ryan insisted we were hiking this day! While I'm happy to hike in the Colorado mountains, doing it with sneakers on this time, with ice and snow on the ground, was not ideal! But alas, the things you do for the one you love and I was soon to find out why Ryan was so persistent on heading back to this beautiful trail. Once we arrived at the frozen lake (seriously though, what does this place look like when it's warm?), we acted like our goofy selves, sliding and "walking" on the ice. Just as I was thinking we were heading back towards the trailhead, Ryan went down on one knee and the rest is history! From all of our excitement, hollering and jumping around, we wondered what the men ice fishing in the distance were thinking ;-)
It's important to know that both our Ceremony and Reception will take place indoors. We take your health seriously and understand any concern with an indoor wedding celebration. We do ask everyone to take a Covid test prior to the event. Mask mandates have been lifted, so please continue with what your comfort level is. We want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time and also provide personal choice!
