How We Met

March 2016

Who would have ever guess that high school could bring your soulmate into your life? I sure didn't. Josh was a senior and I was a junior, we had a biology class together. At first we were sitting across the room from each other but then the teacher decided to sit me next to Josh to try to help improve his grade in the class. After about a week, we started talking back and forth in class about different things we were interested in. As the weeks went on we became friends. Josh would hit me with rubber bands and stick pencils into the holes of my jeans. Would've never thought love started out with rubber bands. Eventually we decided to start hanging out to see where the adventure would take us. Towards the end of the school year things started getting serious between us. On Josh's graduation day (June 12, 2016) he finally asked me to be his girlfriend, which was one of the easiest yes' of my life. I will forever be grateful for Chase High School and the wonderful man that was brought to me through school.

Engagement Story

January 18, 2020

I had been begging and dropping hints for months and months for him to pop the question. It was a Saturday morning and Karen (Josh's mom) had made plans for us to go get our nails/toes done along with 2 other family members. After we got done at the nail salon we went to eat and window shop. Josh texted me saying that he was going over to help my step-dad move some things in the building. He asked me to tell his mom to drop me off there when we were done because he wanted to go out to eat. I went back and forth with him about not wanting to sit over there while they moved things and that he could just pick me up when he's done. Karen kept disappearing while we were in certain stores to talk on the phone with someone, but I didn't think nothing about it and just continued on. Well I finally gave in and told Josh that I would be over there as soon as we got done. We got done with our plans and we headed to my house. I knew something was up when we got on my road and his cousin handed me a note that he had wrote me. As soon as I read the end of the note I knew exactly what was going to happen. Jaxson had a shirt on that said "Hey Mimi we wanted to know if..." while Braxton's shirt said ".. you will marry our Uncle Josh?" while he was holding a sharpie for me to check yes or no. Both of our families were there to share the special day with us. Saying yes to the man of my dreams was the easiest answer I have ever given to someone. I cannot wait to start our journey together as husband and wife.
