How We Started

October 2011

We met in 2008 when he introduced himself to me in the hallways of CCS. We went to give each other a hug and I stepped on his Jordan 1s. I was mortified thinking he would be angry, but he brushed it off. Rush forward to three years later--our senior year--he asks me to homecoming through this adorable animated video that he made himself. We had our first date at the Newport Aquarium and once the festivities were all but over, he drove me across the river to the park. We walked along the river and The Serpentine Wall, settled down in the stone amphitheater to talk and listen to the water lap against the stones. As we sat there and laughed, he asked me to be his girl and our ten year romance began. <3

The Proposal

October 2021

For our ten year anniversary, we went and got our favorite dinner at Soho and drove around downtown remembering the night he first asked me to be his girlfriend. We started to drive by the park where he asked me out and he inquired if I'd like to go down there to see it again. I whole heartedly agreed and as we walked through the park we reminisced about how long our ten years together has been and how excited we were for the following ten to come. Walking up to the Amphitheatre, it was just as quiet and dark as it had been on that night so many years ago. As we stood looking out at the lights in Newport, my phone chimed and I saw I had a message from Brice. I chuckled and called him goofy for sending me a text whilst standing right next to me. Why not just show me? As I laughed I saw a little animated video of him. Confused, I hit play and the miniature Brice laughed at how easy it was to make a video like this and he wouldn't have to do all that coding like he had ten years ago. Small Brice asked me to turn around because the "big guy" had a question for me. Incredulously, I turned around to face him and he sunk down onto one knee and pulled out my ring. And as you know, I said yes.
