Carolyn's dad, Steve Dubnik, the museum's CEO, is thrilled to welcome everyone to one of the family's favorite spots in Rochester, as well as a beloved city landmark. We will be hosting our welcome event here, but it would be worth a second trip to check out the rest of the museum! Great place for kiddos to spend a morning/afternoon with lots of interactive activities and games including a butterfly garden, indoor ropes course, mini Wegmans, pinball machine room, video games, and so much more!
The George Eastman Museum, also referred to as George Eastman House and the International Museum of Photography and Film, is the world's oldest museum dedicated to photography and one of the world's oldest film archives. It has some beautiful gardens located in the back as well.
The Memorial Art Gallery (MAG) is Rochester's civic art museum and has entertained art enthusiasts since 1913. With over 12,000 objects in its permanent collection and a rotating schedule of traveling exhibits, museum-goers can discover new artists upon each visit. Admission is $20 for adults and $9 for children ages 6-18.
The National Susan B. Anthony Museum & House in Rochester, New York, features the National Historic Landmark home of the legendary civil rights leader, and the site of her famous arrest for voting in 1872. This home was the headquarters of the National American Woman Suffrage Association when she was its president. This is also where she died in 1906 at age 86, following her “Failure is Impossible” speech in Baltimore. The Anthony Museum offers guided tours of the Susan B. Anthony House six days a week, from 11 am- 5pm.
The Erie Canal Trail offers a picturesque way to explore the city and its surroundings, stretching 365 miles from Albany to Buffalo. Following the historic canals old towpath, it passes by sublime scenery and centuries-old historic sites. The trail is popular for walking, jogging, running, and cycling with numerous attractions, amenities, and communities along the route. We recommend starting the trail at Schoen's Place in Pittsford - this area has several restaurants/cafes and also offers guided Erie Canal boat tours!
Try a Genny Light beer (Rochester classic) and enjoy the views of the Genesee River from this large taproom. They also have a full food menu for a casual pub-style meal.
