Michael and I are very much homebodies. We love to go out and have fun, but staying home in our PJ’s is more appealing! So when Michael had told me he planned this big night out for us, I got suspicious! Friday night came and I had an event at a preschool I teach at that was pretty last-minute. I was suspicious and anxiety-ridden all night. I called my mom, who we all know is my best friend, my #1, my ride or die. If something was up, I knew she would ease my fears. Instead, her and my dad were on a Costco Date and couldn’t talk. We get to our appetizer and drink date first, and he is cool as a cucumber. I feel bad that I have been stressing pretty much all week, and kind of silly that I was expecting something to happen. Maybe he scored a big project at work, maybe he has a career opportunity, etc. it doesn’t have to be all about you, Carolyn! We walk around downtown Indy for a little and stop in some botique shops just to look for family Christmas presents. Then head to dinner at Tinker Street, a new rising Indy restaurant. We each order a nice meal and treat ourselves! We had a long week at work and it was the weekend. After dinner we have some espresso and chat over the most delicious dessert ever. We head over to The Chocolate Cafe in Monument Circle and get some hot chocolate. Michael suggests we take a walk through the circle since it was a beautifully warm night for December. Then right there in thr circle, I turn to look at the christmas lights and say “its so beautiful this time of year” as I turned back to meet him, he is on his knee! I only remember crying hysterically and saying “yes!” over and over again. I called my mom who answered and said “why are you crying?” Once I told her she said “FINALLY! I thought you said no!” We are over the moon and can’t wait to share our special day with you!
