Timing is everything....after having mutual friends all throughout college, Luke and Carolyn never crossed paths until a Darius Rucker concert in Madison, WI. After a night with good friends (shoutout to Mariah), drinks, dancing & country music - we had already set the precedent for the rest of our relationship, and didn't even know it. Fast forward to a couple weeks later and Luke decided to take Carolyn on a true first date and together, they headed to Miller Park to cheer on the Milwaukee Brewers....a 3+ hour date was the true test, but it was a home run ;)

In July of 2020, Luke planned a trip with friends & family to his family's cabin in Phelps, WI. Plans that Carolyn thought to be a dinner reservation at a local restaurant, turned out to be just an excuse for everyone to freshen up & put nice clothes on. While everyone was getting ready for their reservation and Luke's cousin Nick yelled for Carolyn inside, he completely threw her off guard when he started questioning her about different things from the night before - until he finally just told her to 'go talk to Luke.' From there, Luke was waiting in the backyard....and handed Carolyn an iPad which started playing a video message filled with photos from the past few years, cued up to 'Big, Big Plans by Chris Lane.' There were no dinner reservations, but instead a balcony filled with celebration, a sand bar calling everyone's name & a night that will never be forgotten.
