Carolyn and Kevin met the old-fashioned way….on Hinge in May 2018. Carolyn, whiplashed from looking around the bar for her prince charming, had finally accepted that she might never find love in this world when a tall, dark (not really), and handsome (really) man walked into the bar. That man was her college friend, Ben. He proactively grabbed her phone and started swiping left until he stumbled across an intriguing young man who seemed up to Carolyn’s standards. Kevin indicated in his profile that when he was young, he “wanted to be a fire truck when he grew up." What an outrageous answer. Ben instantly swiped right and messaged Kevin. Little did he know that he would be responsible for finding the love of Carolyn's life! After meeting on a friend’s rooftop a few days post-swipe, they spent the following months courting over dinners, acai bowls, ice cream, and calzones on football Sundays. Yes, they love to eat! In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, they decided to leave Southie and move to Marina Bay, Quincy. It wasn't long before Kevin attempted to surprise Carolyn for her birthday, and they added Wilson, a golden retriever pup, to their family. Wilson soon needed a yard of his own and more space to store all his tennis balls, so they bought their first home in Hingham. Carolyn and Kevin love spending summers in East Dennis, and Carolyn knew that a Cape Cod sunset, beach, or boat engagement was imminent. Kevin, determined to truly surprise her, had other plans. Well, he had the ring but no plan. Luckily, Kevin had a work trip in California, and Carolyn was more than happy to tag along and visit her close friend, Lizzy. Thirty minutes after landing, the two strolled along the beach where Kevin dropped to one knee and asked Carolyn if she would marry him. She fell to two knees and said yes! They can’t wait to begin this next stage in life and celebrate with you in June!
