(1) GRAH SHANTI POOJA / PITHI: Indian Casual (lightweight kurta set for men; lightweight, simple sharara, anarkali, or lehnga for women) / Garden Party (sundresses for women, linen pants and a button down for men). Yellows, whites, oranges, and pinks requested. (2) WELCOME PARTY / SANGEET: Indian Festive Formal (formal sherwani or suits for men; fun formal lehnga, anarkali, or sharara for women) / Western Formal. Come dressed to impress and make sure to wear something that you can dance in :) (3) HINDU CEREMONY: Indian Formal encouraged (formal sherwani or suits for men; formal lehnga or sari for women) / Western Formal (long or mid-length dress for women; suit and tie for men). (1)(b) PITHI (Friday midday): Ritual where family members and friends who apply haldi (turmeric) on the couple to cleanse and to bring good fortune and blessings to the couple. (2) WELCOME PARTY / SANGEET (Friday night): A pre-wedding celebration meant to unite the couple and their families that involves music, dancing, and song. (3) HINDU CEREMONY (Saturday midday): a modernized traditional Hindu wedding ceremony. (4) CHRISTIAN CEREMONY & RECEPTION (Saturday night): A Christian-inspired wedding ceremony followed by a night of eating, drinking, and dancing.
