There are lots of beautiful places nearby to explore if you want to spend time outdoors. Longwood Gardens is an amazing botanical garden with an incredible conservatory. Stroud Preserve has rolling hills and nice trails. Winterthur is another beautiful estate with gardens and walking paths. Tyler Arboretum is a peaceful spot with trails, gardens, and lots of trees. Valley Forge National Historical Park is beautiful whether or not you’re into history (fun fact: Ethan’s grandmother used to be a tour guide there).
Downtown West Chester has plenty of great bars, restaurants, and coffee shops to explore and is very walkable with lots of options in one place. Check out the West Chester Amish Market for Amish goods, grab a drive-through soft pretzel at the Philly Pretzel Factory, or get some water ice from Rita’s. If you’re looking for a good Philly cheesesteak, Delco’s, Mike’s Pizza, and Lorenzo’s are some solid local options.
Forget your wedding fit? King of Prussia Mall has just about every store you could need. Rose Hip is a fun vintage furniture shop in Thornton to stop in if it's open (owned by April Margera, iykyk). Terrain is a beautiful home and garden store and one of Carolyn’s favorite stops when she’s home (pro tip: have a coffee or tea from the cafe while you walk around). Baldwin’s Book Barn is a multi-story historic barn full of books (and a few cats).
Rumor has it the World Cup is going on wedding weekend, so you might meet a pro soccer player while you’re there. In the city, there’s plenty to explore including shopping around Rittenhouse Square, historic stops like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Betsy Ross House, Elfreth’s Alley (the oldest residential street in the U.S). We love the Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, and Love Park is a classic spot for a photo.
