For Brian and Carolyn, this day started out no different than most Saturdays, which meant heading out for some fun in Morristown. Brian was hanging with his partner-in-crime Mike at The Laundromat, while Carolyn was enjoying a girls' night out with her friend Jess at their go-to bar, The Grasshopper. By some twist of fate, Carolyn and Jess decided to venture off their usual path and head into uncharted waters at The Laundromat. Brian immediately spotted Carolyn and, after conjuring up all the possible scenarios and potential pick-up lines to use, he finally mustered up the courage to approach Carolyn and the rest is history. For those who are curious as to what legendary pick-up line Brian used after spending so much time thinking about it aloud and exhausting Mike in the process, it was this: "Hi my name's Brian and I think you're really pretty. Can I buy you a drink?". After some drinks and hearty laughs, Brian and Carolyn exchanged numbers and made their way home, both with butterflies in their bellies knowing something special had happened that night.

On this day, Brian executed the flawless surprise engagement. With some help from his and Carolyn's families, a strange set of "coincidences" led Brian and Carolyn to their favorite restaurant and outdoor beer garden, The Stirling Hotel. It was here that they had shared many of their most fond early memories together and culminated with Brian dropping to one knee at the bench off-premise where they had shared a fun and much-needed meal out during the heart of the pandemic. This kicked off a busy next few months, starting with engagement parties at their parents' houses, a step towards adulthood with a move to the "suburbs" in South Orange, and an engagement trip to Aruba. When it came to wedding planning, Carolyn did something she had done so often in the past, which was to follow in her sister Katie's footsteps (for those of you who don't know the infamous birthday party planning story, make sure to ask Katie at the wedding). Katie and her husband Mike had to postpone their wedding reception (twice) due to the pandemic, but decided to move forward with their actual wedding ceremony on the original date in an intimate setting with just family. Despite all the heartache the pandemic had caused, this was a silver lining as it allowed Katie and Mike to share a special day with their families, and then again with everyone else of importance in their lives. Not to mention this gave Katie the rare opportunity to wear her wedding dress twice, a factor that surely factored into Carolyn's decision making process!

Well, just like that the blueprint was set for Brian and Carolyn's wedding journey. After getting married at Carolyn's Alma Mater, Villa Walsh Academy, on August 17, 2024 on a day filled with countless sentimental moments, Brian and Carolyn are thrilled to celebrate again with all of their family and friends almost a year to the day of their original wedding date on August 16, 2025!
