0.6 miles from Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort! The mountains offer a wide array of trail options for hikers of all abilities and bolsters two of the best summit climbs in Phoenix. The North Mountain Visitor Center provides hikers and nature lovers with detailed information on the trail system, Sonoran wildlife, and regional history. You may also hear stories of numerous, and potentially undiscovered, mining shafts and pits that harken back to the long history of copper mining in our state. If you check out this mountain, please bring Plenty of water. You would be surprised, hiking around will dehydrate you quickly in this desert heat!
Piestewa Peak is an amazing hike! It is steep at times and most everyone will break a sweat! There is usually some wildlife seen on the trail, you will likely see at least one of a variety of medium sized lizards. This is a stunning hike to take in the views of Phoenix. Be warned this can be a strenuous hike for some, so be sure to take a good amount of water. You don't have to go all the way to the to the top, so you make it what you want to! Bring your camera :)
