Azul Airlines, direct flights from the USA
Recife International Airport (REC) is one of the most modern airports in Brazil, and it's the closest airport to our wedding venue. It's the fastest, most comfortable way to go. Azul Airlines being one of, if not the, best airlines in Brazil, offers direct flights from Orlando International Airport (MCO) offers direct flights to Recife most Thursdays and Sundays.

Direct flights from Europe
If you're flying in from Europe, TAP Airlines has direct flights to Recife leaving from Lisbon Airport (LIS) daily! It's the fastest, most comfortable way to go. Beginning June, Azul airlines will offer direct flights to Recife leaving from Porto (OPO), Portugal, and Madrid (MAD), Spain!

Connecting flights to Recife
If a direct flight to Recife isn't an option, the most common way of getting to REC airport is by first flying to São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro or Brasília, then going to Recife. It's important to notice that whatever is your first stop in Brazil, that's where you will go through immigration, meaning you will have to collect your checked bags and go though security, then re-check your bags before your final flight to Recife. It's an easy enough process if you're used to travelling internationally, but keep it in mind to avoid booking flights with layovers shorter than two hours for peace of mind. Guarulhos International Airport (GRU) in São Paulo is the busiest airport in Brazil, so it offers plenty of flights from/to the USA and Europe, it's Carol's usual go-to choice if unable to fly directly home. Rio Galeão (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro is the second biggest, offering just as many options, as well as Brasília International Airport (BSB), the latter being Carol's second-best choice for connecting flights. There may be other options, these are just the most common ones.
