Isle of Palms is a quick 25-minute drive from King Street. Public street parking is available for those who want to hit the beach for the day, since Downtown Charleston itself does not offer beaches. For food and bars on IOP, we recommend Acme, Coda del Pesce, Islander 71, and the Windjammer.
Another barrier island off the coast of Charleston is Sullivan's Island. Sullivan's small-town feel make it a great choice to spend a few hours either on the beach or walking around their downtown area! For food on Sullivan’s, we recommend Obstinate Daughter, Sullivan’s Fish Camp, Poe’s Tavern, and Hometeam BBQ.
We hope you love Charleston as much as we do! With so much to see and do, you could easily spend your entire stay here without ever needing to leave downtown! We recommend a walk along The Battery for beautiful views of the Charleston Harbor and historic homes, visit White Point Garden, and wander through the South of Broad neighborhood for its historic architecture. For shopping, King Street is the place to go and is lined with great restaurants and bars. See below for some of our favorite spots downtown!
