The couple met in downtown Raleigh while out with friends, separately. Caroline and her friends were about to head home when one of Tyler's friends approached their table asking them to join them for the evening. They accepted the offer and ended up closing the restaurant down! They left that night without each others phone numbers, but thankfully Tyler's friend got Caroline's friends number and they exchanged numbers the next day. After a couple of outings with friends, going to the NC State Fair, and carving pumpkins together, they planned a weekend trip to the mountains and the rest was history!
Tyler popped the question in New York City in Central Park on December 19th, 2023. He had been planning this for a little while and tricked Caroline into thinking they were going ice skating in Central Park. But of course, in true Caroline-fashion, she just HAD to change her shoes a couple hours prior to the proposal because her feet were "killing her". She decided that she wanted to go shopping for new shoes, little did she know, they were on a strict schedule. As she was browsing through stores, Tyler started to get pretty antsy. She picked up a pair of red Nike's and showed Tyler. Thank GOD he persuaded her not to get those...After no luck shopping, she decided she wanted to go back to the hotel to change shoes, which was pretty far away from where they were. They got an Uber and made their way back to the hotel. Thankfully the hotel had not placed the bottle of champagne Tyler requested in the room yet. She switched shoes and they made their way back up towards Central Park. Poor Tyler was stressing out and Caroline was just happy she had some comfy shoes on. As they walked through central park, Tyler discretely met up with the photographer he found on Instagram (Caroline still had no idea what was happening) and walked to the picture-perfect location that he picked out! It was a quiet, intimate moment for both of them and now NYC will always hold a special place in their hearts.
To all of our family, friends and loved ones- we are so thankful for all of your continued love and support. We are so blessed to know each of you and we truly cannot envision celebrating this day with any other group of people. Let the festivities begin!
