Question
Do I require an ESTA to travel to the United States?
Answer
Yes. You must apply for an ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before travelling— this is not a visa, but a requirement under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). An ESTA is a simple online authorization that lets travellers from certain countries visit the U.S. without a visa. ESTA is generally approved quickly (often within hours), but it's strongly recommended to apply at least 72 hours before departure (we recommend as soon as possible). Fee Application is going to $40 USD / £29.85 GBP / $61.08 AUD on 30 September 2025, valid for two years or until your passport expires—whichever comes first—and allows multiple entries. When should I arrive in LA?
Answer
We highly recommend arriving in the United States at least 2-3 days before the wedding to help adjust for the time difference and jet-lag. We have a number of activities planned either side of the wedding should you wish to join, including welcome drinks in West Hollywood on Wednesday 29th April!

Which airport should I arrive into?
Answer
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the closest major airport. LAX is approximately 13 miles (45 mins - 60 mins depending on traffic) from West Hollywood and 39 miles (1 hour 15 mins - 1 hour 30 mins) from Westlake Village / Agoura Hills.

Taking an Uber from LAX
Answer
After collecting your bags, open the Uber (or Lyft) app and request your ride. For UberX and other standard options, head to the LAX-it lot (take the free green shuttle which runs every few minutes from the lower level of arrivals, signposted in green). Once at the lot, the app will direct you to your pickup zone. The typical cost for an Uber/Lyft to West Hollywood from LAX (depending on time/demand) is around $50-$60 USD (£35-£45 GBP / $75-$95 AUD). Only premium rides (like Uber Black) pick up directly at the terminal but these can be twice as expensive.

How will I get around in LA?
Answer
Unfortunately LA is unlike a lot of other cities that we are used to with good public transport systems, therefore we highly recommend hiring a car for the majority of your stay in the city. There are several options located near LAX including SIXT, Avis, Enterprise Rent-A-Car and Hertz amongst others. In our experience, SIXT has had the best service and been the most reliable.

Where should I stay for the wedding?
Answer
The wedding ceremony is located in the Santa Monica Mountains (Malibu), which is 35-40 miles west of central LA. We have therefore recommended several hotels for Thursday 30th April - Saturday 2nd May which are located in the nearby towns of Westlake Village and Agoura Hills. We will be arranging transport to and from the main hotels to the venue. Outside of these dates, we recommend staying in or near West Hollywood where we will be based and have arranged several activities.

Where is the ceremony being held?
Answer
The ceremony is taking place at Cielo Farms located at 31424 Mulholland Highway in Malibu (90265). This is approximately 7 miles (12 minutes) from Agoura Hills, 8 miles (13 minutes) from Westlake Village and 13 miles (18 minutes) from Calabasas.

What is the dress code?

Spring Formal wedding guest attire *the wedding ceremony will be taking place outside, and whilst there will be heaters, please bring a jacket for the evening as it may get cold.

Is there parking available?
Answer
Yes, parking is available at the ceremony location for guests and we will have a designated parking attendant on the day. We will also be organising transportation to and from the ceremony.

Will transportation be provided?
Answer
Yes, transport will be provided from the main two hotels in Westlake Village and Agoura Hills which will pick up and drop off guests to and from the ceremony. Timings and exact locations of pick up and drop offs to be sent out closer to the time.

What’s the weather like in Los Angeles in early May?
Answer
May in LA is beautifully mild. In late April / early May you can expect daytime highs around 20–22 °C (68–72 °F) and evening lows around 12–14 °C (54–58 °F). Rain is very unlikely, but mornings may start cloudy (“May Gray”) before clearing to sunshine by midday. We suggest bringing light layers for comfort, especially if you’ll be outside in the evening.
