Question

Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Yes! Transportation will be provided to/from downtown Block Island for events taking place outside of town. Please find details below: Welcome Reception Shuttles (bus and taxis) will begin at 6 PM and run continuously throughout the evening. Pickup and drop off is located at the taxi stand on Water Street, near the ferry across from the Harborside Inn. Wedding Ceremony & Reception Shuttles (bus and taxis) will begin at 2 PM and run continuously until the ceremony begins. Pickup is located at the taxi stand on Water Street, near the ferry across from the Harborside Inn. Please come early if you are able, as the later shuttles will have limited capacity. The Celebration Continues Following the reception, shuttles (bus and taxis) will drop off guests in downtown Block Island near Yellow Kittens or the taxi stand where pick up was. Farewell Brunch Calaveras is located in downtown Block Island within walking distance to the ferry, so no transportation will be provided.

Question

Is this an adults only wedding?

Answer

Yes! We love all the kids in our life so much, but we want everyone to let loose and dance the night away with no responsibilities! The only children in attendance will be our ring bearers and flower girls. If you need assistance with setting up an on island baby sitter, please let us know!

Question

What should I do in my free time?

Answer

Block Island has no shortage of things to do! Stop by the Block Island Chamber of Commerce in the Block Island Ferry Terminal for a map of the island and a map of the many greenway trails! Sights/Hiking: Mohegan Bluffs, Southeast Lighthouse, North Light, Clayhead Trail, Rodman's Hollow. Beaches: Block Island has a 2 mile stretch of beach that is beautiful for swimming. Scotch Beach is our favorite, but the Town Beach Pavilion is closer to town and offers restrooms, chair/umbrella rentals and a snack bar. Mohegan Bluffs is another amazing beach if you don't mind 100+ steps up and down!

Question

Where should I eat?

Answer

Food - our favorite topic! Light bites will be provided at the Welcome Reception on Friday, but we recommend grabbing a bite before/after! There are a few amazing breakfast and lunch options as well! Breakfast: Persephone's Kitchen, The Old Post Office Bagel Shop, The Cracked Mug, Bethany's Airport Diner, Ernie's Lunch: Persephone's Kitchen, Three Sisters, The Oar, Los Gatitos (at Yellow Kittens) Poor People's Pub, The Beachead, The Spring House Drinks: The Block Island Beach House, The Spring House, the lawn at The Atlantic Inn, the lawn at The Oar Dinner: Eli's, The Spring House, Dead Eye Dicks (walking distance to Welcome Reception), The Oar (walking distance to Welcome Reception), Winfields, The Barn at The Spring House, The Atlantic Inn, The Oyster Bar & Grill at The Manisses

Question

What's the best way to get around?

Answer

Transportation will be provided to/from downtown Block Island for the Welcome Reception on Friday and the Wedding Ceremony & Reception on Saturday. Our After Party and Farewell Brunch are both in downtown Block Island, so no transportation will be provided. If you're exploring the island otherwise, you have a few options to get around including taxis, bike rentals and car rentals. Moped rentals are available but we do not recommend them due to safety concerns.
